Privacy Policy

Overview
GateProof is a local-first iOS app for event organizers to create events, issue guest passes, and validate them at the door. Prisma Divergente, Lda. ("we", "us", or "GateProof") provides the GateProof app and this website at gateproof.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app and website process, where that information is stored, and what choices you have.
The short version
GateProof does not require you to create an account with us. Creating events, issuing passes, and validating passes at the door happen on your own devices. Guest pass data is not sent to GateProof servers when you scan. Optional cloud sync uses your own iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. In-app purchases are handled by Apple.
Information we do not collect
GateProof does not operate a ticketing backend. We do not receive guest pass scans, attendee details from scans, redemption events, or your event data when you validate passes at the door. We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. The GateProof website does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
Information stored on your device
The app stores event details, issued passes, redemption logs, team settings, and issuance credit balances locally on your iPhone or iPad. This on-device storage is the source of truth for the core door flow. You can delete this data by removing events in the app or by uninstalling GateProof.
Device permissions
GateProof may request access to:
- Camera — to scan guest pass QR codes at the door.
- Local network — to discover nearby GateProof devices on your venue Wi-Fi for team device sync.
Team device synchronization
When you enable team device sync, redemption state and related event data are exchanged directly between your GateProof devices — over your local Wi-Fi or a direct device-to-device link. Guest passes and scan results are not sent through a GateProof server.
Optional iCloud sync
Cloud sync is optional and limited to individual events you choose. When enabled, event data is stored in Apple's CloudKit under your own iCloud account. Apple's privacy policy and terms apply to that storage. Cloud sync is never required to validate or redeem a pass at the door.
In-app purchases
Issuance credit packs are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payment and provides purchase receipts. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Purchase history is subject to Apple's privacy policy and terms.
This website
When you visit gateproof.app, standard web server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) may be recorded by our hosting provider to operate the site. We do not use those logs to identify individual visitors for marketing. This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies.
Data retention and deletion
Data on your device remains until you delete it in the app or uninstall GateProof. Optional CloudKit data remains in your iCloud account until you delete the event or disable sync. If you contact us for support, we retain correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because most GateProof data stays on your device or in your iCloud account, you can often exercise these rights directly in the app or through Apple. Children's privacy
GateProof is a business tool for event organizers and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here; continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
